Who we are, and why we act.

Fondation Amasu Baba is a humanitarian NGO based in Douala — working to restore dignity, relieve suffering and free human potential.

Who we are

We are neighbours, volunteers and professionals who refuse to look away. Where suffering runs deepest, we bring practical help — and a path back to dignity.

Founded in Douala, Fondation Amasu Baba grew from a single act of solidarity into an organisation serving vulnerable communities across the region. We work alongside the people we serve — listening first, then acting where it matters most.

Our history

From one act of kindness to a movement.

Fondation Amasu Baba was born in Douala from a simple refusal to look away. What started as one man feeding families in crisis became a team, then a network, then an institution — carried by volunteers, partners and communities who believed the same thing: that dignity is a right, not a privilege.

Year after year the work grew — from emergency relief to healthcare, shelter, education and livelihoods — always guided by the people we serve, and always measured in lives changed rather than numbers alone.

Our founder

A vision born of compassion.

Ne AmmasuBaba Kinkela Wa Ma Zulu founded Amasu Baba after years working closely with families the system had forgotten. What began as personal relief efforts became a structured response to hunger, illness and displacement — built on one belief: that every human being deserves to live in dignity.

“We do not give charity. We restore what suffering takes away — a person’s dignity.”

Mission & Vision
Our mission

Restore dignity, relieve suffering, free the human.

To bring immediate relief to those facing hardship, and to walk with them toward lasting autonomy — through care, shelter, education and opportunity.

Our vision

A society where no one is left behind.

A Cameroon — and an Africa — where every person, whatever their circumstances, can live safely, with dignity, and shape their own future.

Our values
01
Compassion

People first

We meet every person with empathy and respect — never judgement, never conditions.

02
Integrity

Honest stewardship

Every gift is used transparently and accountably, down to the last franc.

03
Community

Stronger together

We build with local communities, not for them — because lasting change is shared.
